Referrals

Do you know someone who needs email copy?

Well they’re in luck, because you know a guy…

(It’s me. I’m the guy.)

Here’s how referrals work:

  1. Connect me to the person via email.

    My email address is robert@robertlucas.co.

Use this subject line: Connection: Robert <> [Their Name].

And in the email, you can say something like…

    Hey [Name],

I wanted to connect you with Robert Lucas. He’s an email copywriter who helps companies sell more products through email.

You can learn more about him here.

I’ll let you two take it from here. Just thought you might benefit from the connection.

  2. Keep an eye on your inbox.

I’ll let you if the connection turns into a paid project.

These things can take some time, so don’t be alarmed if I don’t get back to you right away. I promise I’m not trying to steal your money.

  3. Tell me how you want to be paid.

If the connection does turn into a paid project, I’ll send you a 10% referral fee after the client pays me. Just tell me how you’d like to be paid.

The fine print

Here are a few things to know before embarking on your referral journey.

  • I am not looking for content writing projects. This means “please don’t connect me with someone who needs blog posts written.”

  • I am looking for email copywriting projects. This means “if you know someone who sells products or courses through their email list, please connect me with them.”

  • I am not allowed to pay you in sexual favors. Apparently the government doesn’t like that or something.
