$67,118 since yesterday morning

A Kickstarter project I worked on launched yesterday morning…
And it’s already 447% funded.
In dollar signs, that means it’s raised $67,118 already.
And actually, I’m pretty sure it was fully funded within the first 90 minutes of launching. That’s a big deal….
Especially when you consider that only 37.66% of Kickstarter projects reach their goal.
So how did this company do it so quickly?
Three things come to mind:
1. It’s a niche product with mass appeal.
The company is called Carnivore Snax.
And their product is called… well, Carnivore Snax. Haha.
Basically, Carnivore Snax are like “meat chips.” And if that’s a weird concept to you, let me explain:
Think of a normal potato chip, like the Kettle brand — those dense, crunchy MFs…
Now imagine they were made of nicely salted ribeye steak and melted in your mouth like butter.
That’s pretty much what Carnivore Snax are.
The company’s target audience is (unsurprisingly) people following the carnivore diet, the keto diet, or something similar like paleo.
And the branding speaks directly to those people — which is great.
But even if you’re not part of those groups, you still might be interested in the product. Because a lot of people eat meat.
2. The company has been building an audience for months.
If yesterday was the first time people had heard about Carnivore Snax, there is no way in hell it would be 447% funded already.
One of the co-founders, Sylwia, and other influencers in the carnivore space started posting about Carnivore Snax months ago.
So people wanted to buy long before they were able to. They were just waiting for the word “go,” and when they got it…
They went over to Kickstarter and helped fund the project.
3. The copy on the sales page is pretty damn good (but I’m a bit biased).
This was the first project for a brand-spankin’-new marketing agency called Orzy Media, founded by the one and only Chris Orzechowski.
I wrote the copy for the page, and Chris “chiefed” it.
(If you’re unfamiliar with that term, it means he edited it and gave me feedback, and we worked together to make it as effective as possible.)
Chris did a great job of outlining everything people would need to know to make a buying decision.
So the page gives them all the information they could want. And it does it in a clear, compelling way.
Time will tell how the project ends up. But as of now…
We’re pretty excited about it.
