I got this idea at 3:45AM last night…

Well, I f*cked up.

I recently started skateboarding again, and it's a lot of fun. But yesterday, I was reminded of the fact that my body isn't as resilient as it used to be…

My roommate Jeremy and I found an empty parking lot to go practice.

And we were having a blast.

He was practicing riding his board off a ledge…

And I was practicing ollies and the occasional kickflip (I landed two of them!).

Everything was going great until an hour into our session.

I started to feel the muscles in my neck tightening up a little. (I've tweaked my neck a few times in the past, and that's generally a sign that it's about to happen again.)

So I took a break and did some stretches… and in case you were wondering —

Yes. Having to stop in the middle of skateboarding session to stretch does make you feel old as f*ck.

After that, I started skating again — but the tightness started to come back.

"I think I'm about done man. My neck is feeling weird."

"Cool. All good. Let me try this a few more times," Jeremy said while he got ready to ride off the ledge.

I had the bright idea that I would also ride off the ledge one more time before we left.

"Dope. Let's knock this out and get out of here."

So I grabbed my board, climbed up onto the ledge with Jeremy, and took off…

I rode off, and when I landed — it happened.

If you've ever gotten injured before, you know there's that moment when you instantly realize something is wrong.

As soon as I landed, I knew. That was it.

The muscles in my neck locked up. I was officially injured.

Not like broken leg injured. But like "f*ck — it's not supposed to feel like that" injured.

So we went home.

I proceeded to do about 45 minutes of rehab/mobility exercises, eat dinner, read for a bit, and go to bed.

I woke up around 3:45AM and my neck HURT. And that's when I got the idea…

"This would make a good email!"

And I guess that's the benefit of being a writer. You can turn shit into sugar. Painful moments into material.

So here's the thing:

I think a lot of us treat our businesses like I'd been treating my body…

Ignoring the warning signs until it's too late.

And when we lose that client…

Or when a launch doesn't go as planned…

Or when, oh I don't know, a pandemic breaks out and the economy goes to shit…

Only then do we realize how big of a problem we've had all along.

So I've decided to take a more proactive approach to this whole "my body isn't as resilient as it used to be" thing.

For the rest of this month, I'll be doing 55 minutes of mobility/prehab exercises every day.

Why 55 minutes?

I'm breaking it down like this:

Two 15-minute sessions during the workday.

One 25-minute session at night.

I wish I didn't have to get injured in order to make this a priority, but oh well. That's the situation I'm in.

But if you want to learn from my mistake…

And take a proactive approach toward fixing any nagging copywriting issues in your business…

I'd recommend scheduling a Copy Call with yours truly.

Here's how it works:

Click the link above and grab a spot on my calendar…

Send me some copy you want to improve…

I’ll take a look at it…

Then we’ll jump on a call…

And figure out how to make it better.

When it’s over, I’ll send you a recording of the call + notes highlighting what we discussed.

If that sounds appealing...

Peace and blessings,
